·Modular Solution Description:
The modular UPS adopts the standard 19 inch rack structure designs. Each set of system consists of the static switch, control system, power module, external battery and the battery cabinet. Its power module can be in parallel in the system to share the loads equally. If the fault occurs, it can quit out the system automatically and the rest of power modules can undertake the loads. It can expand not only flatly but also vertically. The particular redundant parallel operation technology can make the devices free of single point faults and ensure the highest usability of power supply. So all of the modules can achieve the hot-plug and can be replaced or maintained online, it is the safest power supply protection solution.
(1) Static switch
The static switch module is mainly used for fast switching between inverter and AC bypass power supply, to improve the security and reliability of the power system, receiving two AC input, and choosing one output, the static switch power module inverter output is connected to the system output on conditions of working online. If the power module could not provide enough voltage within a specified period, the static switch will immediately switch to bypass power supply.
The static switch adopts advanced high power imported thyristors, which can achieve switch-free, and has strong anti-shock and anti-short-circuit ability, so the reliability, stability of the system is greatly improved. The interior has a self-checking functions, interlocking functions, system output abnormal protection abilities, instant power-off protection functions, output overload protection functions, and short-circuit protection functions. It has RS485 interface and integrates the MODBUS communication protocol, at the same time, it has standard input and output dry card. The static switch bypass supports hot swappable, it can realize the on-line replacement without interfering the load power supply. It also has the function of UART communication that can communicate with the unit monitoring, module system, and it is always ready to send and receive work orders and various alarm information.
(2) System monitoring
Monitoring system for data acquisition consists of 32 high-performance digital signal processor. The displayer has a touchable LCD 320X240, which can simultaneously support touch and keyboard operation, to easily and freely meet different operating habits. It provides RS232, RS485 communication interfaces, with multiple input and output points. You can choose TCP/IP extension card and GSM SMS alarm to control the network remotely. System monitor is divided into three areas: state indicating lamp area, data information display area, and the key operation area. Status indicator area provides simple status information to the users through different LED screens. LCD data information display area provides detailed system status information to the user through the LCD display. System monitoring shows four interface: the system data (SYSTEM), module data (UPSMDULE), historical event record (EVENTS), and function setting (SETUP). It has multi-language display system including Chinese and English, providing users with a friendly operation interface, simple and clear. LCD display screen has a corresponding information display when you use it, providing an excellent operation experience for users.
(3) Power module
Power module uses the multi-mode online double conversion technology, which converts the rectifier, filter into DC, the DC power provides power for the second inverter circuit and at the same time charging the battery system intelligently, the second inverter circuit is a high efficiency modulator circuit with three order sine wave. Then the DC is turned to AC again to supply reliable and continuous power which has stable voltage and frequency for load. The AC input is three-phase power, the output DC ± 240V dedicates to battery, and the output AC is three-phase AC sine wave voltage.
The module has the function of self-testing, the AC input / under voltage protection, output over / under voltage protection, output overload protection, short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, output abnormal automatic out of the protection, battery over-discharge protection, etc..
The module has the function of intelligent communication interface and perfect protection, which can communicate with system monitor, sending and receiving work orders and various alarm information anytime.
The module has a complete function of UPS, combining rectifier, inverter, charging and control, without external synchronous control signals or other control methods, the module can work automatically, which reduces the system bottlenecks and improves its reliability.
Effective module dustproof design: IP protection grade (IP30), front protective net and the filter screen can be dismantled and cleaned online, and all circuit boards are spraying with anti-corrosion paint to improve the environmental adaptability of the system, so it can be used in harsh environment.
The standard SNMP card adopted HTTP protocol, SNMP protocol, TELNET protocol etc. UPS power supply operation states can be clearly monitored, such as the UPS power state, the battery status, bypass state, inverter, self-exam state, the working state and the input voltage, output voltage, load percentage, input frequency, battery voltage, battery capacity, battery discharge time, UPS internal temperature, surrounding temperature, etc., It improves the management efficiency and the quality. The windows NT/ windows 2000/windows XP/windows 2003 are used in the operating system.

Intelligentized Power Distribution System
This system is an all-in-one power distribution integrated system for input and output of UPS. It should be used together with the host machine of UPS that includes UPS input switch, output switch, maintenance bypass switch and overall input switch. All the master switches are configured with the assistant contact point which has internal current sensing system and communicates with the host machine of UPS.
This power distribution system consists of the branch output power distribution module, monitor module and isolation transformer. Every power distribution module of output power distribution unit configures with the 18 output branches, the current of each branch can be set from 6A-32A according to the requirement. It can adjust the three-phase according to the configuration and the change of on-site loads, the power distribution system can maximumly install 6 plug- type power distribution modules, and the quantity of power distribution module can be chosen.
The power distribution system and host machine of UPS have the same size shape and same color. The standard configurations are: LCD, UPS maintenance bypass board (including the overall input switch, UPS input switch, output switch, maintenance bypass switch, assistant contact point switch), testing circuit main board, voltage of three-phase input/output, current sensor components, current in middle wire, ground current sensor and external EPO signal interface.
Users can choose to install input K value isolation transformer and branch current monitor.
This power distribution system can be configured with the network card, so that can monitor the parameters, status and historical events of power distribution cabinet. The users can monitor the input/output three-phase voltage, current, frequency, current in middle wire, current in ground wire, KVA number of each phase, KW number, power factor, branch current and so on. Users can set the limit value of current high or low voltage warning. Users can also choose to install input K value isolation transformer and branch current monitor.
External Battery and Battery Cabinet
The battery adopts the maintenance-free sealed lead-acid battery. The capacity and the brand of the battery can be chosen according to the requirement. The access of the battery is flexible, configurable 30-44 to reduce the battery voltage and quantity, so as to improve the service life of the battery. Battery installation can be chosen flexibly according to the practical application, which can be assembled as battery cabinet or open multi-layer multi cell frame, or users can choose the battery cabinet and UPS host brand with the same appearance and the color of the interior.
·Reliability Analysis of Modular Single UPS
To evaluate the executing duty reliability of UPS system, it needs to consider not only the MTBF of UPS but also the MTTR of UPS and MTBF of main power. When the UPS and the main power is broken down at the same time , the loads will lost the power, which means the UPS key duty loses the efficacy. The time that loads are not on the protection of main power depends on the time of maintenance. If maintaining one UPS needs one week and the MTBF is also one week, then when the UPS is on the failure, the loads will possibly lost the power. If the MTTR of UPS is one hour, then the MTBF of main power would not affect the failure probability of key loads too much. It is apparently that the reduce of the MTTR of UPS will decrease the probability of the failure of the key loads, so the best way of reducing the MTTR of UPS is to decreases the factors which can affect the maintenance of UPS as much as possible. Because the dual bus modular (N+X) has the hot plug-in function, it is the best choice for the users.
From the view of design principle, the whole system which takes the power supplying mission must adopt the high “fault-tolerance” function of redundant power supplying program to ensure that no matter when the electrical power network or any modules (including the system control modules) are on the failure, or when the switch of breaker is off or blown fuse because of the daily maintenance testing operations, or operating mistakes the power supply of inverter of online UPS can supply the power for the devices of internet. It should not be on the AC bypass of UPS which the power is supplied by the standby electric generating set.
All in all, the dual bus modular (N+X) UPS has the longest mean time to failure (MTBF), minimum mean time to restoration (MTTR), most powerful anti-interference ability and a high “fault-tolerance” function. The users can use this set of program system to get the stable, high efficient, safe 24 hours UPS power support, it is the apotheosis of the most professional computer room power system and the most reliable power protection.
